Pizza in A Bundt Pan---Tasty Tuesday is here again!

Good morning again to all of you!
As you read this I am staring out the window, watching the forecasted sleeting ice and freezing rain cover everything in sight.
Beautiful.
Deadly.
Especially to people and to anything budding at this time.

I am praying for my fruit trees. Yesterday I was admiring the new buds just starting to sprout from the branches, and today I am watching it rain ice from the sky.

All part of being a homesteader in the northern states.

And one more reminder that I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength
.
So if you happen to think about it, pray for the many here who had to go to work, who had to be out of the roads because of bosses,
or family members, or whatever.

And pray for the many folks, like ourselves,
who rely on our gardens and trees to feed our families.

Pizza in a Bundt Pan

I saw this floating around  on Facebook from Pinterest and knew I had to try it. We already have a weekly pizza night on Saturdays, but this was a twist that my kids were already super excited about after seeing  the pictures, so I set out to see if it is easier, or more involved, than just making, rolling out, topping, and baking a regular pizza.

Turns out this baby is going to be a regular
on the pizza rotation menu.
It was so much simpler to throw bits of pizza dough in, pour over the sauce, layer the pepperoni and top with cheese three times.

I could probably have made it with only two layers, but the kids were enthusiastic, and so it was a winner.
Scroll to the bottom to see a picture of our pizza bake (you can see having enthusiastic kids can lead to an overflowing pizza pan) and a direct link the blog that came up with the idea in the first place.

However, I also wanted to pass on to you my wonderful and simple recipe for pizza dough.
There is a Master Mix recipe for Pizza Dough in my Master Mix Way cookbook, but I also make it up in bags and store it that way, so it is a simple, quick meal for us to throw together.

I hope you have a wonderful (and warmer than here) Tuesday.
Hope to see you back here tomorrow for the Welcoming Wednesday Linky Party!

Blessings to you and yours,
Heather

Fast and Easy Pizza Dough

1 cup warm water
 2 1/2 tsp dry yeast
**combine this and let it sit for two minutes while you are getting your Bundt pan out and greased for the pizza dough.

Add 1 Tbs sugar
1 tsp salt
4 Tbs Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 tsp oregano leaves
2 1/2 cups fresh ground whole wheat flour

Mix dough really well, kneading for about five minutes, then let rest while you assemble the rest of the pizza ingredients. Cut dough into halves or thirds. We did thirds for ours. In retrospect, I would have simply set aside the third one for another time, like for breadsticks, or mini-pizzas and only done two layers. I am sure it would not have been nearly as messy.....

Cut portion of the dough into pieces. Dont worry about being perfect, just say 10 or 12 pieces, and throw them in the bottom of the pan until it covers everything with no gaps.

Next pour 1/2 of the jar of spaghetti (or pizza) sauce over the bread.

Top with pepperoni or sausage, or veggies, or whatever you want on your pizza.

Then, load on a couple good handfuls of mozzarella cheese

Repeat layers,

ending with a good dose of cheese,

a shake of basil leaves, and knowing you have enough to feed a football team.

Bake at 350* for 30 minutes, and then cool.
It was SOOOOOOO good, and easy. Even my three year olds were helping.
If you can't tell by the end result. :)

  1. So do you scoop it out or dump it out like a cake?

    1. We scooped it out, but if you had a well greased pan, I dont see why you couldn't dump it out like a cake. :)
